What is this?
Neuromodulator injections, also known as botulinum toxin (Botox), are another way to prevent visible signs of aging on your face. The injections primarily aim to restore a relaxed and youthful appearance to the face.
These neuromodulators work by relaxing the body's motor nerves. In other words, the neuromodulator inhibits movement by reducing the contraction capacity of certain targeted muscles. Since the muscles no longer contract as intensely after injection treatments, the development of permanent wrinkles is systematically attenuated.

Possible treatments
Through repetition, certain facial movements such as frowning, blinking, and nose wrinkling strengthen the muscles involved. These muscle activities cause the skin to crease, leading to microtraumas that result in expression lines. Crow's feet, forehead wrinkles, and wrinkles between the eyes are examples.
Neuromodulators are primarily used in the upper face to treat, for example, crow's feet (wrinkles around the eyes), the glabella (frown lines), and forehead expression lines. These injections will help the face regain a relaxed and rejuvenated appearance. Neuromodulator injection is also a solution for eliminating wrinkles around the mouth, such as smoker's lines, as well as orange peel skin on the chin.

The treatment is quick and painless. It lasts 15 to 30 minutes and requires no downtime. In fact, you can return to your normal activities immediately afterward. The doctor injects small amounts of neuromodulators into the muscle. Its effect, although often noticeable 72 hours after treatment, peaks 10 days later. Injections should be spaced approximately three months apart.
